About

In rural India, millions of school going kids from poor families, can’t afford to have basic schooling needs like books, pencils and erasers. Ganesh Chaturthi is the most celebrated festival in India. During the festival, people across the country bring the Ganesha idol home and celebrate it with great fanfare. They spend thousands of rupees on the decoration by buying beautiful and ornate makars. Lord Ganesha is often revered as a god of knowledge and education. So we thought of doing something this Ganesh Chaturthi that can help in providing education to the needy poor school-going kids. Idea: Ganesha Decoration for Education. This unique Ganesha Makar decoration was designed using school stationary like books, pencils and erasers. And after the festivities are over, post the Ganesha idol immersion, this decoration would be dismantled and the stationary used in designing the Makar decoration would be donated to the needy poor school going kids. If all Ganesha bhakts (devotees) subscribe to this new form of Ganesha decoration, soon, not a single kid in rural India would be deprived of their basic education needs.
